Oyebamiji hails Super Falcons’ WAFCON triumph, celebrates Ajibade’s heroics

Gubernatorial aspirant and CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons on their historic victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Oyebamiji specifically praised Osun-born Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, for her outstanding performance, creativity, and leadership, which he said were instrumental in securing the nation’s 3-2 win against host nation Morocco in the final.

In a statement personally signed, the former Osun State Commissioner for Finance extended his felicitation to Nigerians and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging the president’s commitment to youth and sports development.

He described the Super Falcons’ victory as evidence of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda producing positive results, particularly in the sports sector, and praised the president’s leadership style and administrative reforms.

“The Falcons’ victory is a strong testimonial to Mr. President’s determination to rewrite Nigeria’s success stories globally,” he said. “Against all odds, these women proved themselves as champions and patriots.”

Oyebamiji hailed the Super Falcons as rare gems whose names have been etched in history, expressing immense pride in their achievement and the joy it brings to Nigerians nationwide.

He noted that Nigeria’s track record in global football has once again been reinforced, with this victory reflecting the nation’s spirit and excellence in sports.

Oyebamiji concluded by commending the unity, passion, and determination shown by the team, saying their performance will inspire future generations of Nigerian athletes.
