Oyebamiji pledges insurance scheme for Osun traders, donates ₦10m

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has promised to introduce an insurance scheme for traders if elected.

Oyebamiji made the pledge on Thursday during an endorsement programme organised by traders at Sabo Market in Osogbo, where he also donated ₦10 million to support their businesses.

The APC candidate said his administration would work with the Federal Government and development partners to facilitate access to grants and affordable loans for traders to expand their businesses.

He assured the Babaloja and Iyaloja that the requests they presented on behalf of traders would receive prompt attention, adding that the growth and welfare of market men and women would remain a priority of his administration.

“No state or community can thrive without the support of its Babaloja, Iyaloja and traders. That is why your progress is a priority for us,” Oyebamiji said.

He also said his administration would operate an inclusive system of governance that would give market leaders opportunities to contribute to policies affecting their businesses and communities.

The APC candidate cautioned residents against selling their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), alleging that some politicians were inducing voters with cash transfers under the guise of offering appointments.

“I, Bola Munirudeen Oyebamiji, assure you that I will not disappoint you. I sincerely appreciate your support. We will not make promises we cannot keep. I urge you to keep your Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). Do not sell them to anyone,” he said.
