Oyebamiji pledges serious, accountable administration if elected Osun governor

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has promised to run a transparent and accountable administration if elected, declaring that he would treat governance as a serious business.

Oyebamiji made the pledge on Tuesday at the Arise Town Hall organised by Arise News in Osogbo ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

“I’m going to run a very serious business. You know governance is a serious business and I’m going to give my people serious and rewarding business of governance. I’m going to be transparent and I’m going to be accountable to my people,” he said.

The APC candidate also criticised what he described as an imbalance in the distribution of resources in the state, alleging that 97 per cent of Osun’s resources currently goes to two local government areas.

“97 per cent of our resources go to two local governments. That is an aberration. Initially, it is criminal,” Oyebamiji said.

He pledged to run what he described as an impressive government and ensure that all parts of the state benefit from his administration.

“I’m going to make sure that all my people, cities, towns, villages benefit from my government,” he said.

Oyebamiji also promised heavy investment in healthcare and education, expressing concern over the state of both sectors.
