Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has been sworn in for a second term, pledging to strengthen governance, improve residents’ welfare and deliver greater democratic dividends.
Oyebanji and his deputy, Monisade Afuye, took their oaths of allegiance and office on Friday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Adekanye Ogunmoye, administered the oaths during the inauguration ceremony, which attracted dignitaries, government officials and other guests.
The inauguration followed Oyebanji’s victory in the June 20 governorship election, in which he secured another four-year mandate to lead the South-West state.
With his second term underway, the governor is expected to consolidate on the programmes and projects initiated during his first tenure while pursuing further development across critical sectors of the state’s economy.
Oyebanji pledged to improve the living conditions of residents and ensure that the benefits of democracy reach more communities across Ekiti State.
He is also expected to sustain ongoing development initiatives while addressing the needs of residents through policies and programmes aimed at improving public services and promoting inclusive growth.
As he begins another four years in office, attention will be on how his administration translates its commitments into tangible improvements in residents’ welfare and delivers on its development priorities.
