Oyebanji submits APC nomination form for 2026 Ekiti governorship election
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has submitted his All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form for the 2026 governorship election at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
The governor announced this in a post on his official Facebook page, pledging to build on his administration’s achievements and move Ekiti to greater heights.
Oyebanji was accompanied by a broad coalition of APC leaders and stakeholders, including former Governor Niyi Adebayo, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, current and former National Assembly members, former deputy governors, labour leaders, opposition leaders, students, youth, and women groups.
In his post, Oyebanji wrote: “Yesterday, I formally submitted my Nomination Form for the 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
“It was heartwarming to be accompanied by a broad coalition of leaders and stakeholders, including former Governor Niyi Adebayo, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, current and former National Assembly members, former deputy governors, labour leaders, opposition leaders, students, youth and women groups, as well as members of our great party across the state.
” Of particular note was the presence of the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2022 election, my dear brother, Hon. Bisi Kolawole, who led members of the Osoko Political Family to the event.”
The governor stressed that the APC in Ekiti remains a cohesive family, reaffirming his commitment to internal democracy.
“I deeply appreciate the relentless support of our leaders, especially all the former governors of the state — H.E. Otunba Niyi Adebayo, H.E. Dr. Kayode Fayemi, H.E. Ayodele Fayose, and H.E. Engr. Segun Oni — as well as the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and all elders of our dear party. The massive show of support reflects the unity of purpose among Ekiti people and their desire for continuity, stability, and sustained development.
” I am grateful to all who stood with me yesterday. With your continued prayers, support, and the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we will build on our achievements and move Ekiti to greater heights,” Oyebanji stated.
