Oyebanji upbeat as Chief of Air Staff lays foundation for Air Force Base at Ekiti Airport

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has expressed delight at the ground breaking of the Air Force Base in the state.
Oyebanji, accompanied by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, performed the ground breaking in Ijan-Igbemo road on Thursday.
The Ekiti governor said the Air Force base will bring significant benefits to the people of Ekiti by enhancing the state’s security levels.
He said: “The proposed Air Force Base located along Ijan-Igbemo road will undoubtedly bring significant benefits to the people of Ekiti by enhancing our security levels and providing swift responses to security threats.
“I would like to express my gratitude towards the former governor of Ekiti State, H.E. Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, and the former Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar for their tireless efforts in facilitating this collaboration between the state government and the Nigeria Air Force since 2020.
“On our part, our commitment to the Nigerian Airforce Base is not in doubt; that is why we have donated and fenced 1, 250 hectares of land for the building of the operational base and granted it a joint user right of the airport.
“We are glad to help enhance the Nigerian Air Force’s operational capabilities, particularly in the fight against insurgency, terrorism, and other security challenges confronting our Nation.”
