Nigeria’s Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has distributed hundreds of bags of fertilizer to farmers across Osun State. The event took place on Thursday at the Tinubu Shettima Campaign Office in Osogbo.

Representing Oyetola, former Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr. Dayo Adewole, underscored the government’s commitment to agricultural development, highlighting the significance of the initiative as a means to boost crop production during the dry season.

“We are here to support our people who are farmers with a trailer load of fertilizer distributed across the state,” said Adewole. “This support is a small gesture, but we believe it will have a significant, multiplier effect for the farmers.”

The Minister’s efforts drew praise from beneficiaries and local leaders alike. Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, former Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives, and Empowerment, commended Oyetola’s dedication to the welfare of Osun farmers.

“When you have a leader that is responsible and responsive, he consistently prioritizes the well-being of his followers. This initiative speaks volumes about Oyetola’s commitment to our people,” said Olaonipekun.

Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, the APC State Chairman, also expressed his appreciation for the support, ensuring that the fertilizer distribution would reach grassroots farmers across Osun. Represented by APC State Treasurer Femi Kujembola, Lawal assured that the distribution would follow the party’s structure, reaching each unit across the state.

Leaders from Osun’s three senatorial districts – Hon. Saheed Onibonokuta (Osun Central), Hon. Fowowe Akinola (Osun East), and Hon. Fawande Oyewole (Osun West) – expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, applauding both President Bola Tinubu and Minister Oyetola for their unwavering support.

They also reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and pledged to work toward the success of the administration’s agricultural goals.
