Oyetola constitutes Committee to review operations of boat operators

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has constituted a Special Committee to review the operations of commercial boat operators in coastal and inland waterways to address incessant boat mishaps across the country.
During a meeting with heads of agencies in Abuja on Thursday, the Minister noted that it has become a matter of urgent concern, hence the need to proffer solutions to reduce it to the barest minimum.
However, the committee is expected to review and come up with recommendations and actionable plans that would checkmate the menace.
The committee has 21 days to complete the assignment and submit a comprehensive report to the Ministry.
The committee has the Managing Director of National Inland Waterways (NIWA), Bola Oyebamiji, as Chairman.
Other members are: Mr. D. Mobereola, DG-NIMASA, Prof. S. Abiodun, Executive Director NIOMR, Dr. A.M Sule, Executive Director NIFFR, Dr. B.D. Olaosebikan, P-FCFFT, Prof. B. Fakinlede, TA-HM-FMMBE, and Mr. A. Offie, DD-IWW, to serve as committee Secretary.
