Oyetola presents staff of office to Owa of Igbajo

Osun State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola on Thursday presented the staff of office and instrument of appointment to the new Owa of Igbajo, Oba Adegboyega Famodun.

Speaking at the coronation ceremony, Oyetola described the new Owa as a major player in true governance that brought sustainable development to Osun in general and Igbajo in particular.

The governor urged the people of the town to cooperate with their new monarch to engender peace in the community and the state at large.

He also charged them to discharge their civic responsibility through regular payment of taxes and other levies to achieve further provision of services.

He said: “I thank the people of this town for putting up a seamless and peaceful structure that contributed to the emergence their new traditional ruler.

“Igbajo is known as a peaceful and developmental town. It is my belief that the two attributes will be sustained as the new Owa is installed with his political sagacity, leadership qualities. His reign will attract unprecedented development and progress in the town.”

Oyetola also appealed to the youths to cooperate with the monarch and leverage the various intervention programmes of the state government.

In his remarks, Oba Famodun assured the people of the town that he will use everything within his power to ensure the progress of the town.

Until his appointment, Oba Famodun was the chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
