Oyetola’s aide calls Adeleke to caution Commissioner
ecries incessant attacks on Minister
Special Adviser to former Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Youth and Sports, Aremo Taofeek Lateef has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to caution his Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi over his incessant attack of Oyetola.
Speaking with newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday, Lateef stated that Alimi’s needless utterances and outbursts are unbecoming of the office of a commissioner in the state.
According to him, “As a Yoruba and an ‘Omoluabi’, it is part of our tradition and culture to always respect, in every way, anybody who’s your senior in age, not to talk of position. How on earth will someone call Oyetola an ingrate or a confused Governor?
“No doubt, he has right to be embittered about his exclusion from Oyetola’s cabinet more than six years ago. Still, it does not worth throwing decorum into the wind like he has been doing with his utterances.
“While Nigerians are not moved by the dummy Alimi is selling to the public on behalf of his principal, it is in his best interest to desist from his incessant attacks on our leader, the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola.
“The government should rather face what it is elected to do instead of castigating the past administration. This is nothing but an act of vendetta.
“We expect Alimi as the mouthpiece of the government to feed the people with messages of hope, that Osun government is planning to make life more meaningful to the people of the state.
“It will be better for the government’s spokesperson to focus on informing the public about its efforts in fighting the deepening insecurity, poor performance of students in Osun government schools and hardship affecting the people in the state despite the Federal Government’s massive interventions than become obsessed with heaping blames of its incompetence and failure on the Honourable Minister, Gboyega Oyetola.”
