Oyintiloye urges APC chairman to prioritize wins in Anambra, Ekiti, Osun polls

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged the newly elected National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, to develop strategic plans to secure victory in the upcoming governorship elections in Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun states.

Oyintiloye, a former member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, made the call on Sunday while addressing journalists in Osogbo. He described the off-cycle elections as critical tests for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While congratulating Yilwatda on his election, Oyintiloye praised him as a man of integrity and competence, urging him to lead the APC to landslide victories in the coming governorship polls.

He advised the chairman to consolidate the party’s base by attracting members from opposition parties while retaining existing stakeholders, noting this would bolster support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“The new chairman is bringing in fresh vigor and experience at a time the party needs solid direction,” Oyintiloye said. “His emergence shows APC has capable hands ready to face the challenges ahead.”

He noted that the chairman must work closely with state chapters to develop and implement winning strategies tailored to each state’s political realities, adding that the leadership at the grassroots must be fully involved.

Oyintiloye stressed that victory in the three states would build momentum for the 2027 elections and demonstrate APC’s capacity to manage electoral contests effectively.

He also emphasized the need for internal democracy within the party to protect current members and accommodate defectors without causing division or instability.
