The approval followed the presentation and adoption of the report of the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation and State Economic Planning during plenary on Thursday.
The committee, chaired by Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola, considered the bill clause by clause, taking into account inputs from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
The committee also considered projections contained in the Oyo State Government’s Medium Term Expenditure Framework before recommending the passage of the supplementary finance bill.
With the approval, the total amount approved under the 2026 Finance Law increased from N892,085,074,480.79 to N1,102,085,074,480.79.
The committee recommended that the additional N210 billion be provided from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Oyo State for the financial year ending December 31, 2026.
The sources of the supplementary funds are contained in the schedule attached to the bill, which was approved by the lawmakers after consideration during plenary.
The passage brings Oyo State’s total approved financial provision for 2026 to N1.102 trillion, making the state’s revised budget one of the largest in its history.
