An aide to the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, Comrade Femi Awogboro, has said his principal remains in the race for the Oyo State governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
Awogboro made the clarification during an interactive meeting with supporters in Ibadan, insisting that no official endorsement has been made and that the party’s primary process is still open to all aspirants.
He said Adelabu’s ambition is based on consultations with key political stakeholders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and expressed confidence that the party would conduct a transparent and credible primary election.
According to him, current engagements within the party are focused on promoting unity, fairness, and internal democracy ahead of the polls.
Awogboro described Adelabu as a prepared and experienced aspirant, noting that his background in both public service and the private sector, as well as his current role as Minister of Power, strengthens his chances.
He urged party members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation, stressing that cohesion within the party would be key to success in the 2027 elections.
He also thanked supporters across Oyo State for their backing, describing Adelabu as a preferred candidate, while assuring that his principal would not disappoint them.
