Oyo ADC denies Chief Bisi Ilaka’s appointment to MRMR committee

The Oyo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has refuted ongoing claims of Chief Bisi Ilaka being in the party’s Membership Revalidation, Mobilisation, and Registration (MRMR) Committee, describing the claim as fraudulent and pledging judicial recourse if the issue persists.
Ilaka, a former chief of staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, was accused of falsely presenting himself as an official member of the committee.
In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Barrister Bimpe Adelowo, the Oyo ADC labelled Ilaka an “impostor” while cautioning him and other collaborators against interfering in the party’s internal affairs.
The party emphasised that it would not hesitate to pursue legal action against Ilaka and his “associates” should the false claims continue.
Criticising Ilaka’s political record, the ADC accused him of “repeatedly taking undemocratic paths in pursuit of an inordinate ambition rather than learning from previous defeats.”
Seizing the opportunity, the ADC apologized to members and the general public for any confusion caused, accusing unnamed “political aliens” of deliberately sowing discord and engaging in uncivil political conduct.
The party further noted that the officially appointed Oyo State representatives on the MRMR Committee are Mr Ayo Akinyemi as Chairman and Professor Folake Tafita as Secretary.
Members were encouraged to focus on the ongoing online membership registration, which remains open for two weeks via the official portal, while reaffirming its commitment to unity and the recruitment of credible and capable individuals.
