Oyo APC Senator, Alli faults OYSIEC’s conduct of local government election

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Electoral Matters, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has voiced apprehension regarding the perceived lack of readiness exhibited by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) for today’s local government election in the state.
Speaking to reporters at his residence in Ibadan North Local Government Area, Senator Alli, representing Oyo South Senatorial District, expressed disappointment over reports detailing the delayed arrival of electoral materials in various parts of the state.
He outlined several irregularities that have plagued the election process, underscoring these issues as indicative of OYSIEC’s unpreparedness.
Reports of material delays have surfaced from multiple areas, including Iseyin, Okeho, Ayete, and Idikan Onibata in Ward 4 and Ward 5 of Ibadan North West Local Government Area.
Senator Alli emphasized the urgency of the situation, raising concerns about OYSIEC’s readiness and the potential for hidden agendas.
Harping upon past electoral experiences, he highlighted the critical need for swift and decisive action to tackle the challenges confronting the electoral process.
