The Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Health, has concluded the 2025 Omituntun Free Health Mission aimed at delivering free healthcare services to residents across the state.
Speaking at the final phase of the programme held at the Secretariat, Ibadan, for public and civil servants, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, said the mission provided comprehensive healthcare to government staff, pensioners, people with disabilities, and underserved communities.
She explained that the outreach covered all 33 local government areas, with an additional three days dedicated specifically to retirees, persons with disabilities, and civil servants.

According to the commissioner, the health mission was a key part of Governor Seyi Makinde’s Omituntun 2.0 agenda and provided life-changing care at no cost to beneficiaries.
Ajetunmobi noted that the outreach delivered a range of services, including medical consultations, minor surgical procedures, dental care, eye examinations and surgeries, physiotherapy, cancer screenings, chest X-rays, lab investigations, and free drug dispensation.
She added that patients needing further treatment were referred to appropriate hospitals or enrolled under the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA) for continued care.
Beneficiaries, especially civil servants, expressed gratitude to the state government for prioritizing their health and welfare. Many also commended Governor Makinde’s commitment to accessible healthcare and urged his successor to sustain the initiative beyond 2025.
