By Adejayan Gbenga –
A former Oyo State Commissioner for Finance and Deputy Chief of Staff under the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Mr. Abimbola Adekanmbi, has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adekanmbi, who also contested as a senatorial aspirant on the party’s platform in 2023, announced his exit in a resignation letter addressed to the APC Chairman of his Ward 1, Ibadan North East Local Government.
The letter was also copied to the APC Chairmen of Ward 4, Ona Ara Local Government, and the Oyo State APC Chairman at Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
Although he did not disclose specific reasons for his departure, Adekanmbi described his decision as the end of a “significant chapter” in his political journey that began with the formation of the party.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Oyo State through the APC, highlighting the shared experiences and dedication of members across all levels of the party.
“Through seasons of growth and challenge, I have remained steadfast in my commitment, and I am grateful for the honour to contribute, in my own way, to the service and progress of our dear Oyo State,” he stated.
He further appreciated his colleagues and leaders at the ward, local, state, and national levels, noting that their collective efforts and memories would always remain dear to him.
