Oyo govt bans student signing-out celebrations, phone usage in secondary schools

The Oyo State Government has announced a ban on signing-out celebrations for graduating students in secondary schools throughout the state. In addition, the use of mobile phones is now prohibited in both public and private schools.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Segun Olayiwola, revealed these new directives during the pre-resumption forum of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Oyo State Chapter.
He praised school principals for their important role in shaping young minds and encouraged them to maintain discipline and safeguard government property.
Olayiwola also urged principals to renew their dedication to excellence in school administration and the holistic development of students.
Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Bamidele Oyinloye, and the Chairman of the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mrs. Olubukola Oladipupo, emphasized that the forum should go beyond being a routine meeting.
They highlighted its importance as a platform for school leaders to acquire new insights into effective administration and management.
