Oyo Govt charges civil servants on dedication, diligence

The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, has charged civil servants across the state to intensify efforts in discharging their duties in line with the sustainable development agenda of the present administration.
She made the call during an interview on BCOS News and Current Affairs programme “KAYEGBO,” held at her office at the Secretariat, Ibadan.
The Head of Service urged newly recruited staff across ministries, departments, and agencies to perform their duties efficiently and with dedication.
Mrs. Oni diaclosed that civil servants across various cadres have benefited from different categories of training—both locally and internationally—since the inception of the current administration, all aimed at improving workplace efficiency.
She commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for prioritising workers’ welfare, citing prompt payment of salaries, leave bonuses, 13th-month salary, pensions, and gratuities to retired civil/public servants.
Asserting that the civil service is the backbone of government operations, she emphasised the importance of collaboration between career administrators and political appointees for effective policy implementation.
Mrs. Oni added that the civil service ensures continuity of governance across administrations and should be involved in all stages of programmes and projects to guarantee sustainability.
She further urged all civil/public servants in the state to remain committed to their duties and loyal to the present administration to help deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo State.
