The Oyo State Government on Tuesday engaged 24 private investors in a sensitization session on the importance of securing legal land titles.
The engagement, held at the Secretariat in Ibadan, was supervised by the Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, and focused on the benefits of proper land documentation.
Mr. Akin-Funmilayo stated that the government is committed to integrating investors into its broader economic expansion strategy.
He added that involving investors in the process would allow them to contribute meaningfully to the state’s development through infrastructure and other capital projects.
“Securing legal land titles is essential for you as investors and for the Oyo State Government,” he said. “It will facilitate seamless development and ensure accurate archival records for future reference.”
The commissioner reiterated the state’s readiness to support genuine investors in boosting Oyo’s economy.
In response, Mr. Adesina Ojelade commended the state government for streamlining the land regularization process and expressed the investors’ willingness to comply with the guidelines.
He assured that steps would be taken to formalize land ownership in accordance with government regulations.
