Oyo Govt probes suffocation of 10 Ibadan Polytechnic students after gas incident

The Oyo State Government has launched an investigation into the collapse of 10 students from the Science Laboratory and Technology Department of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, after they inhaled a poisonous gas during a classroom altercation on Tuesday.
Health Commissioner Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi led an emergency response and directed a thorough investigation to identify those responsible.
The affected students were rushed to Ring Road State Hospital and the University College Hospital (UCH), where they were stabilized and are receiving medical care.
Dr. Ajetunmobi emphasized the need for sensitization programs to prevent violence and harmful acts. Polytechnic Rector Dr. Taiwo commended the government’s swift response and vowed to ensure justice.
