According to a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, on Friday, the project will involve the construction of rural roads across five local government areas in the state.
The contract signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Ibadan, the supervisory ministry for Oyo RAAMP. The event was overseen by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye.

Contracts were signed with five construction companies: Dephanny’s Venture Limited, Messrs CGC Nigeria Limited, Messrs Coastline Engineering Limited, Messrs Lopek Engineering and Construction Limited, and Messrs E.A.A Engineering Limited.
Addressing the contractors and stakeholders, Olaleye stated that the project aims to upgrade rural roads, improve agricultural marketing, and promote economic growth in the state.
He emphasized the project’s potential to positively impact rural communities, farmers, traders, and market hubs, reducing post-harvest losses of agricultural products.
While congratulating the contractors who emerged through a highly competitive bidding and procurement process, the Commissioner explained that the Phase 1 intervention will involve backlog maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction of cross-drainage structures. The roads include:
Fashola Farm Settlement road networks (Oyo West);
Oloko Oyo Junction–Ikere Junction (Iseyin Local Government);
Alako–Idiya–Batake–Olowa Farm Settlement (Ido Local Government);
Adebayo–Alata–Aba Oje (Oluyole Local Government);
Okudi–Oyada road (ATISBO Local Government);
Tewure–Ila Junction road (Oriire Local Government).
In her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs. Abosede Owoeye, highlighted that the project aligns with the vision of the present administration under Governor Seyi Makinde. This includes supporting farmers with necessary equipment to enhance food security.
She added that the contract signing brings the state closer to achieving its goals of promoting economic growth, improving livelihoods, and enhancing food security. She expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, the World Bank, and the French Development Agency for their support.
In her remarks, the Oyo State Project Coordinator for Oyo RAAMP, Engr. Adeola Ekundayo, urged contractors to cooperate with stakeholders who will monitor their activities.
She also noted that Grievance Redress Committees have been constituted for each road, in line with the Project Implementation Manual, and will meet with the contractors before civil works commence.
Speaking on behalf of the contractors, Mr. Shan Jingwu, a representative of CGC Nigeria Limited, commended Oyo RAAMP for its transparency in the selection process. He assured that his team would deliver professional and high-quality work.
