Oyo IPMAN orders members to resume sales of PMS

The leadership of the Oyo State chapter of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), has directed its members to resume sale of petroleum products with immediate effect.
The resumption followed a meeting they held at IPMAN headquarters in Ibadan on Friday to unravel the issues that necessitated the one-day closure of sales of petro.
It would be recalled that the IPMAN leadership had on Friday ordered its members to close all filling stations across the state until further notice over alleged harassment and intimidation by officers of the IGP Monitoring Squad.
Speaking with Westernpost in a telephone conversation on the resumption on Saturday, IPMAN Chairman in the state, Alhaji Bukola Mutiu said the closure order was lifted Saturday morning due to government intervention on the development.
He said: “We have told our members to resume sales of PMS this morning after government intervention.”
Alhaji Mutiu linked the ongoing fuel scarcity across the state to the high cost of diesel as well as the inability of Oyo State-based petroleum marketers to load fuel directly from Ibadan depot.
According to him, the leadership of the association has been managing the crisis for a long time before the matter went out of control due to the increment in the price of diesel as well as petrol.
