A governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Olufemi Oguntoyinbo, has resigned from the party, citing its prolonged internal crisis.

Oguntoyinbo announced his decision in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman in the state, stating that his exit takes immediate effect.

The former aspirant explained that his resignation followed extensive consultations and careful reflection on his political future, particularly in relation to his vision for unity, progress and sustainable leadership at both state and national levels.

He added that he intends to pursue his governorship ambition under a different political platform.

Oguntoyinbo was among those seeking the PDP ticket for the upcoming governorship election before his resignation on Thursday.
