Oyo releases schedule for 2025 BECE, Common Entrance Examinations

The Oyo State Government has officially announced the dates for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Common Entrance Examination for pupils across the state.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Olayiwola Olusegun, the BECE will hold from Monday, July 7 to Wednesday, July 16, 2025. The examinations will begin daily at 9:30 a.m. in candidates’ respective schools.
The Commissioner also disclosed that the Screening/Placement Exercise, popularly known as the Common Entrance Examination into Junior Secondary Schools, is scheduled for Thursday, July 17, 2025. This exam will commence at 7:00 a.m. at designated screening centers across the state.
Students are advised to arrive at their examination venues with all necessary writing materials.
Hon. Olusegun directed school principals to ensure proper coordination and monitoring of the examinations. He added that officials from the Ministry and members of the Oyo State Examination Ethics Committee will be on ground to oversee the process and uphold the integrity of the examinations.
“The Ministry will not tolerate any form of malpractice. Students and pupils are urged to conduct themselves properly, while the general public is warned against loitering around schools and screening centres during the period,” he warned.
He emphasized that the entrance exam is strictly for eligible candidates and urged all stakeholders to cooperate to ensure a smooth and credible exercise.
