Oyo senators visit Olubadan-designate Ladoja ahead of coronation

Senator Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, led a delegation of federal lawmakers from Oyo State on a courtesy visit to the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusall), ahead of his coronation as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Akintunde was accompanied by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari (Oyo North) and Senator Sarafadeen Alli (Oyo South, also the Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland) during the visit on Monday.

Speaking at the event, Senator Akintunde praised the Olubadan-designate for his statesmanship, leadership qualities, and contributions to the development of Ibadan and Oyo State.

He described the forthcoming coronation, scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, as a historic occasion for both Ibadan and the Yoruba nation, emphasizing that the Olubadan institution remains one of the most respected and enduring traditional stools in Nigeria.

In his response, Oba Ladoja expressed gratitude to the lawmakers for their goodwill, describing the coronation as another milestone in the rich history of Ibadanland. He urged political leaders to continue supporting traditional institutions to promote peace, unity, and development.

The visit was marked by warm exchanges, prayers for a successful coronation ceremony, and a renewed commitment to fostering collaboration between political and traditional leadership in Oyo State.
