Oyo Speaker, lawmakers endorse APM governorship aspirant Bimbo Adekanmbi

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, on Wednesday led a delegation of lawmakers to endorse Bimbo Adekanmbi as the governorship aspirant of the Allied Peoples Movement ahead of the 2027 general elections in Oyo State.
The endorsement was announced during a strategic breakfast meeting held at Adekanmbi’s residence in Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan, where members of the party in the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly discussed party unity, grassroots mobilisation and preparations for the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking at the meeting, Ogundoyin described Adekanmbi as an experienced politician with the capacity to provide purposeful leadership and sustain good governance in the state.
According to the speaker, the gathering reflected the lawmakers’ confidence in Adekanmbi’s ability to unite stakeholders and provide inclusive leadership for the people of Oyo State.
Ogundoyin added that lawmakers remained committed to supporting individuals and initiatives capable of promoting political stability, strengthening democratic institutions and consolidating developmental achievements across the state.
He also stressed the need for early consultations and strategic planning ahead of the 2027 elections, noting that internal cohesion would play a major role in determining the success of political parties during the polls.
In his remarks, Adekanmbi thanked the lawmakers and party stakeholders for the endorsement, describing it as both a responsibility and a call to greater service. He pledged to provide inclusive and people-oriented leadership if elected.
Adekanmbi also promised to build on the achievements of Seyi Makinde in infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic development and youth empowerment, while assuring party members that consultations would continue across the state to strengthen unity within the party.
