The Oyo State Government has assured that the Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road will be fully operational by 2027.

The government disclosed plans to spend N109.23 billion on expanding the scope of work along the 15.5km southeast segment, including the construction of toll plazas, flyovers, underpasses, entry and exit points, and a mini toll gate at the 16.7km Jagun/Ibadan/Ife end of the road.

This was announced by the State Executive Council at the end of its weekly meeting held in Ibadan.

The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Dotun Oyelade, stated that the cost of the 16.7km Jagun/Ibadan/Ife axis, previously estimated at N66.17 billion, has been revised upward to N92.28 billion. Additionally, the expanded work on the southeast section will cost N16.96 billion.

The increase in contract value is attributed to the new constructions, such as toll plazas, flyovers, underpasses, and entry/exit points with mini toll gates, which will complement the road project.

The expansion covers the 15.5km southeast segment along the Lagos/Ibadan/Jagun axis, with the additional cost of N16.96 billion.

The Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Arc Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, also secured approval for road mapping, kerb painting, steel rail installation, and patching of roads in Ibadan metropolis, including the Lead City University/Challenge junction road, at a cost of N120.47 million.

This project will be executed through the Ministry’s Direct Labour intervention.
