The Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, has formally declared his intention to participate in the forthcoming 2027 Oyo governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Adeniran made the declaration in a statement issued on Monday, saying his decision followed extensive consultations, reflection and prayers.

He said his ambition is driven by a desire to serve the people and build on the achievements of the current administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The chairman further noted that the announcement is a follow-up to an earlier declaration he made a few months ago during an interview on a state radio station where he first revealed his governorship ambition.

According to him, his years of service in different government positions have equipped him with the experience and understanding needed to lead the state effectively, citing his experience in public service, including serving as a local government chairman, commissioner and board member at both state and federal levels.

Adeniran also praised Governor Seyi Makinde for excellent leadership, describing him as a visionary leader whose administration has transformed Oyo State, and pledged to sustain and strengthen the achievements of the current government.

He added that his administration, if elected, would prioritise quality education, youth empowerment, security and infrastructure development, while also creating employment opportunities and strengthening the state civil service through improved welfare and capacity building.
