Participants hail organisers as maiden NPFL coaches’ workshop ends in Ikenne

The Nigeria Premier League Club Managers Association (NPLCMA) has successfully concluded its first-ever Capacity Building Colloquium, held from June 26 to 28, 2025, at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne, Ogun State.
The groundbreaking workshop, organised in partnership with the Africa Development Program and AMAPRO, brought together top resource persons, including NFF Technical Director Austin Eguavoen, High-Performance Analyst Mohammed Elbadry, and leadership coach Shogo Shodunke.
Over three intensive days, coaches and managers from Nigeria’s top-flight clubs engaged in practical learning sessions covering advanced training techniques, modern game planning, scientific coaching methods, and athlete management.

Participants hailed the workshop as a timely and transformative initiative, with many describing it as “an eye-opener” and “a valuable step forward for the domestic game.”
The event not only met but exceeded expectations, leaving attendees equipped with modern strategies to elevate their teams and the Nigerian Premier League as a whole.
Speaking at the close of the event, NPLCMA Secretary Daniel Ogunmodede expressed satisfaction with the successful outcome. He said, “This has been a landmark moment for Nigerian football coaching. The level of knowledge shared and the quality of facilitators have set a new standard.”
He added, “We are committed to building on this momentum and ensuring continuous development for our coaches and clubs. I also appreciate our sponsors — ValueJet, Bet9ja, and our host Hon. Kunle Soname — as well as our facilitator, AMAPRO.”
Dignitaries at the workshop included NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, NPFL Chairman Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, and the Association’s Patron, Hon. Kunle Soname.
