Pastor, wife arrested over death of three persons while undergoing deliverance in Osun

The head of a C&S church in Osun State, Taiwo Olaniyi, 42, and his wife, Kemi have been arrested over the death of three persons while undergoing deliverance in the church.

Olaniyi is also said to be a trado-medical practitioner in the church/healing home in Ofatedo, Egbedore Local Government area of the state.

The victims are Rasheedat Mufutau, 58, Anifowose Basira, 48 and an infant, Abdul-Rahman Afolabi. They reportedly died while undergoing spiritual healing.

It was gathered that the incident happened on June 28, 2022 at about 6am.

Spokesperson of state Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the incident, said that investigations into the mysterious deaths has commenced.

“It is true. Three bodies were recovered from the scene, a healing home belonging to a church, around Olofa Grammar school in Ofatedo.

“The head of the church and his wife have been arrested and are in police custody to aid investigation,” she said
