As the internal leadership crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deepens, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has made his position clear.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the PDP Constitution, emphasizing the importance of following the party’s prescribed succession procedures in the event of a chairman’s departure.
Governor Adeleke also expressed his continued support for the PDP Governors’ Forum’s resolution, emphasizing his role as a key member of the forum.
“I fully stand by the Constitution of our great party, which clearly outlines the succession process in the event of an elected chairman’s exit,” he stated. “I also align with the resolution of the PDP Governors’ Forum, of which I am an integral member.”
He further stressed the importance of adhering to the party’s constitutional framework, particularly in times of crisis. “Our party must uphold its Constitution at this critical juncture and at all times. This is the path to building a responsible and sustainable political party,” he concluded.
