Ovation Magazine Publisher and former presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has accused the incumbent Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike of disloyalty to the party, stating that the party’s chieftains have deserted him and are closely monitoring his moves.

Momodu stated this when he appeared on Tuesday’s edition of Channels Television’s breakfast show Sunrise Daily.

He alleged that though the FCT minister is working under the administration of President Bola Tinubu, the president’s camp does not trust him.

Wike, a former Rivers State governor, supported Tinubu of the APC in the 2023 presidential election amid disagreements within the PDP leadership regarding Atiku Abubakar’s nomination.

Despite his subsequent appointment as FCT Minister, Wike remains in the PDP, drawing criticism from Momodu, a publisher, who accuses him of undermining the party.

“Wike feels he is fooling Tinubu and his people. But Tinubu’s people know him very well.

“There is no Nigerian today who does not know that Wike cannot be trusted in any matter especially if it affects his interest in power. For him, power is everything. Money is everything,” he said.

Momodu further contended that Wike’s actions went too far in opposing the PDP.

Recall that during the heat of the crisis which rocked the PDP, despite attempts were made to reconcile Wike with the party, but the rift would result in the PDP losing the presidential election in Rivers State to the APC.

“What a man should know is that when you cut your nose, thinking you want to spit your face, you would look awkward.

“We have left him and we are watching him,” he added.

Momodu emphasized that if he had the authority, he would have disciplined Wike.

He also urged the PDP to take decisive action against the minister to strengthen the party’s position.
