PDP Governors appoint zonal, national convention planning committees

….National Convention to hold August

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governors’ Forum, has appointed members of the zoning and national convention planning committees for the party.

A communiqué released and signed by the PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed at the end of the PDP governors’ meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday, said the governors resolved to hold a stakeholders meeting of the party on May 27, 2025, announcing that the party’s National Convention will hold in Kano from August 28  to August 30, 2025.

To ensure a hitch-free convention, the governors announced the formation of zoning and convention planning committees.

The zoning committee members are:

Douye Diri (Bayelsa)– Chairman Dauda Lawal (Zamfara)– Vice Chairman  Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau)– Secretary

National convention planning committee members include:

Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa)– Chairman  Ademola Adeleke (Osun)– Vice Chairman Peter Mbah (Enugu)– Secretary

Meanwhile, following the recent Supreme Court judgement that returned Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s national secretary, the governors have recommended that the Deputy National Secretary should temporarily assume the role in an acting capacity until a substantive secretary is nominated and ratified.

They reiterated their commitment to ensuring that the position of the PDP National Secretary remains in the South East zone.
