PDP presidential aspirants to buy forms for N40m

…as youths enjoy 50% reduction

The Peoples Democratic Party has announced the commencement of sales of forms for various elective positions in the 2023 general election.

In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, aspirants interested in vying for the post of president will part with N40m.

The party says the presidential aspirants would purchase the nomination form for N35m, while an additional N5m would be for expression of interest form.

Governorship aspirants are also expected to buy the nomination form for N20m, while the expression of interest form costs N1m.

The nomination form for senate and House of Representatives seats cost N3m and N2m each, while both seats require an expression of interest form which costs N500,000.

State House of Assembly seat nomination form costs N500,000, while aspirants are expected to pay N100,000 for the expression of interest form.

The party however said aspirants aged between 25 and 30 years are expected to enjoy 50 per cent reduction for any of the offices.

“NEC also approved the establishment of a 37-member zoning committee to make recommendations for the zoning of various elective positions for the 2023 general elections,” the statement further said.

According to Ologunagba the sale of forms would start on Thursday (today).
