PDP sets timetable for Ondo gov’ship election

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has released its schedule of activities for the Ondo State governorship election.

The schedule displayed on Monday at the party’s national headquarters, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja, was signed by the PDP National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature.

According to the schedule, the sale of expression of interest, nomination forms, and Ad-hoc forms is slated for March 7 – March 21. The deadline for submitting a completed expression of interest and Ad-hoc forms is March 25.

The governorship aspirants will undergo screening at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on March 27. The reports of the screening are to be submitted on March 29.

The notice indicates that the appeals on the screening exercise will be on April 2, 2024, and the ward Congress to elect 3-man Ad-hoc Ward Delegates takes place between April 6 and April 7. The ward Congress appeals are scheduled for April 10

The party’s congress to produce its governorship candidate will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

The certification of the deputy governorship candidate by the NWC of the party is for May 9, while the deadline for submitting the name of the governorship candidate to the Independent National Electoral Commission is May 20.

According to the timetable, the final date for withdrawal and replacement of candidates is June 10.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Ondo State Governorship election will be held on November 16, 2024.
