PDP’s Bala Mohammed re-elected Bauchi governor

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has been declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed, at the State Collation Centre, declared Mohammed, who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the winner of the election on Monday after polling 525,280 votes.
Mohammed won 13 local government areas out of the 19 in the state.
He defeated the candidate of the major opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd), who won in only six local government areas and scored 283,000 votes.
