PHOTO NEWS: G20 Ministers of Culture meet in Brazil to promote cultural exchange
Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, represented the African Union in leading a delegation of Culture Ministers from across the continent at the G20 Meeting for Ministers of Culture.
In her remarks, Musawa emphasized the importance of Africa’s inclusion in global discussions, calling for a more responsive international dialogue that addresses the unique needs of African nations and people.
She noted that the anticipated adoption of the Ministerial Declaration marks a significant step toward strengthening support for African culture, fostering cooperation, and advancing the African Union’s vision for the continent as outlined in AU Agenda 2063.
Musawa also expressed the African Union’s commitment to supporting South Africa’s vision and leadership as it prepares to host the next G20.
She highlighted Nigeria’s progress in the four priority areas of the Culture Working Group: cultural diversity and social inclusion.
