Sons and daughters of Ijebu Ode converged at the Palace Arcade to celebrate the annual Ojude Oba cultural festival and pay home to the Awujale, paramount ruler of all Ijebus Oba Kayode Adetona.
The annual event which has been sponsored for straight 20 years by Globacom had prominent indigenes of the ancient town in attendance including Governor Dapo Abiodun and former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel who all came out in flamboyant traditional attires.
Ojude Oba, which started as a religious celebration after Ileya, the religious festival of Muslims where the faithful pay homage and thanksgiving to God and the king has become a major cultural and tourism event that draws participants from across Yorubaland land and across Nigeria.
