Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Senator Daisy Danjuma, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa, and Senator Natasha Akpoti were among the dignitaries and awardees at the Arise News Women of Impact event on Monday night in Lagos.
The event was the highlight of the 2025 Women’s Month celebration, where the television network honored about 80 Nigerian women making an impact on the global stage and across various sectors of the economy.
Former President Jonathan and banking icon Fola Adeola, co-founder of GTBank, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
At the award night, Jonathan stated that no Nigerian leader has surpassed his record in appointing women to key political offices, demonstrating his strong belief in women’s empowerment and affirmative action.
