King Charles III on Wednesday hosted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu at a state banquet held at Windsor Castle, where he highlighted the growing influence of Nigerians in the United Kingdom.
Speaking during the event, the monarch noted that people of Nigerian heritage now play significant roles across various sectors of British society, including business, technology, academia, law, and the arts.
“We in the United Kingdom are blessed that so many people of Nigerian heritage, having chosen Britain as their home, are now at the heart of British life through excelling at the highest levels of business, technology, academia, law, science, sport, literature and the arts, and public service,” he said.

He described Nigeria as a rapidly evolving nation with a youthful population and immense potential, adding that its contributions continue to shape global culture and innovation.
The King also praised the cultural impact of Nigeria, citing the global reach of Afrobeats, Nollywood, and Nigerian professionals contributing to public service and sports in the UK. He noted that the relationship between both countries has deepened over the years through shared history, economic cooperation and cultural exchange.

He further emphasised the importance of strengthening trade and investment ties, noting increasing collaboration in sectors such as finance, education and technology.
He concluded by extending goodwill to Muslims ahead of Eid al-Fitr and reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
