Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday led senior government officials to host a banquet in honour of the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, at the Government House, Marina.
The event celebrated Disu’s rise in the Nigeria Police Force and his longstanding ties to Lagos State.

The IGP previously served in Lagos as Aide-de-Camp to former Governor Bola Tinubu and later as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a post on his social media page, described the occasion as a celebration of service and dedication.

“There is something inspiring about seeing one of ours rise through the ranks with discipline and a clear commitment to service. Long before the world knew him as IGP, Lagos knew him,” he said.

“The streets of this city shaped him, the lecture halls of the Lagos State University refined him, and the communities of Lagos Island taught him early lessons about life, responsibility and service.”

He noted that Disu’s career reflects discipline, integrity and commitment to public service, adding that his journey is a testament to hard work and excellence.

Sanwo-Olu added that the state was proud of Disu’s achievements and his continued service to the nation.
