PHOTO NEWS: NCC wins WSIS 2025 Prize
The Nigerian Communications Commission NCC’s Digital Awareness Programme (DAP), won the WSIS 2025 Award for Access to Information and Knowledge at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes Awards on Monday, July 7, 2025.
The 2025 WSIS Forum, branded as WSIS+20 High-Level Event 2025, holds 7-11 July 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland. It is a platform for multi stakeholder discussions to assess ‘the achievements and key trends, challenges and opportunities since the Geneva Plan of Action in 2003’.
The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, received the WSIS 2025 Prize (Category C3: Access to Information and Knowledge) from the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Doreen Bogdan following the selection of the Commission’s Digital Awareness Programme (DAP) as winner of the category.
