Vice President Kashim Shettima led officials of the Federal Government to sign Memoranda of Understanding on political and economic cooperation with a delegation from the Republic of Colombia, led by the visiting Vice President and her team.
Vice President Shettima wrote on his social media pages:
“Today, I witnessed the signing of an MoU on political consultations between Nigeria and Colombia, on the sidelines of the Nigeria–Colombia Business Forum in Abuja.

“The MoU, signed by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, and Colombia’s Deputy Minister of Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mauricio Jaramillo Jassir, opens a new and significant chapter in relations between both countries.
“In my remarks, I implored both Nigeria and Colombia to take advantage of their abundant potential and turn it into palpable and substantial economic gains.

“This should be driven by the private sectors of the two nations, exploring new opportunities, deepening partnerships, and addressing common challenges.
“I also acknowledged the ‘handshake with Nigeria,’ as remarked by the Vice President of the Republic of Colombia, Mrs. Francia Márquez, reaffirming our country’s position as a strategic market for Colombia.”
