PHOTO NEWS: Osinbajo in US, engages Kamala Harris, World Bank executives
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who is currently in the United States on working visit met his counterpart, Kamala Harris and World Bank Group President, David Malpass and other executives on Saturday.
During the engagements he discussed bilateral issues between America and Nigeria with Kamala Harris.
In the meeting with the World Bank President, Osinbajo discussed Nigeria’s Energy Transition Plan and the country’s commitment towards achieving universal energy access and reducing GHG emissions while maintaining reliable baseload.
The World Bank presidemt, on his part emphasized the importance of integrating climate and development, as well as the need for an enabling policy and regulatory environment alongside strengthened institutions in the energy sector.
He also emphasized the WBG’s readiness to support Nigeria on a few fronts , while also increasing social assistance for the poor and vulnerable.
