PHOTO NEWS: Sanwo-Olu receives South Africa’s Julius Malema on courtesy visit

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday received Mr. Julius Malema, President of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.
Malema, who is on a visit to Nigeria, was warmly welcomed by the governor and top government officials. Discussions during the visit focused on strengthening bilateral ties between Lagos and South Africa, particularly in areas of youth empowerment, economic collaboration, and cultural exchange.
Sanwo-Olu described the visit as a reflection of the deepening relationship between Nigeria and South Africa, noting that both nations share a history of solidarity and common aspirations for the advancement of Africa.

He commended Malema for his role in championing youth participation in governance and politics, while stressing that Lagos remains open to partnerships that promote economic growth and opportunities for young people.
Malema, in his remarks, praised the hospitality of Lagos State and expressed optimism about future collaborations between South Africa and Nigeria, particularly in trade, culture, and people-to-people exchange.

The visit ended with an exchange of souvenirs and a reaffirmation of both sides’ commitment to fostering stronger cooperation for the development of the African continent.
