President Bola Tinubu on Saturday declared open the West Africa Economic Summit at the newly renovated Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
Speaking at the summit, Tinubu called for urgent action to address West Africa’s low intra-regional trade, which he said remains below 10 percent.
He emphasized the need for integration, infrastructure investment, and policy alignment to unlock the region’s economic potential.
The event was attended by regional leaders, policy makers, and economic experts focused on strengthening cooperation and competitiveness across West African economies.
