Player’s Union President Tijani Babangida calls for unity among players’ bodies

As 2024 comes to a close, the President of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), Tijani Babangida (MON), has urged harmony among the various players’ unions in Nigeria.

He emphasized the importance of presenting a unified and formidable front to effectively advocate for the rights and interests of Nigerian players.

Speaking on the matter, the former Nigeria international said, “It is high time we set aside our differences and personal interests to focus on the union’s objectives, which are primarily centered on benefiting Nigerian players and safeguarding their future.”

Looking ahead to the new year, Babangida announced that PFAN’s Board of Trustees would develop strategies to reconcile all aggrieved members and unify the union.

“We need to chart a new course for the union, focusing on objective, issue-based goals that align with global best practices.

“Our ultimate aim is to improve the lives of many Nigerian professional footballers,” the former Nigeria and Ajax Amsterdam star added.
