PM Starmer, President Tinubu agree to strengthen Nigeria, UK partnership
The British Prime Minister, RT Hon Keir Starmer and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have agreed to work closely together to sustain and enhance the partnership between the United Kingdom and Nigeria for economic growth and prosperity.
The two leaders resolved to renew and strengthen the relationship between their countries during a phone conversation on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a press statement issued by the United Kingdom Government, President Tinubu congratulated Prime Minister Starmer “on his recent election victory,”.
The Prime Minister in turn, commended President Tinubu and Nigeria for attaining a major milestone of achieving a record twenty-five years of unbroken democratic rule.
The statement added that RT Hon Starmer discussed the significant partnership between the United Kingdom and Nigeria, which is based on long-standing ties between the people of both countries and mutual collaboration in trade and security as Commonwealth members.
Both leaders, the statement said, embraced the chance presented to rebuild and fortify their partnership, cooperating closely to promote prosperity and economic growth between their nations, particularly through the Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership.
