Police apprehend woman in Ogun at naming ceremony of day old baby stolen in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command on Wednesday arrested one Funmilayo Mogbojuri at Sagamu in Ogun State for allegedly stealing a day old baby from Sabo area of Okitipupa.
The suspect, who spoke in Yoruba language confessed to the offence and pleaded for forgiveness.
She said she could not ascertain the spirit that entered her to have committed such an act.
Mogbojuri said she has two kids for her husband in Cameroon but his family prevents her from having access to them.
The suspect, who claimed she is from Abereke, disclosed that she stole the baby last week Thursday before travelling to Sagamu.
The mother of the baby, Binta Alhassan said Mogbojuri requested to pass the night in her house the day she put to bed, which she obliged.
“To my dismay, while on my way from the bathroom the following morning, the woman had disappeared with the baby which had not even been breastfed by then,” she said.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami, said the suspect was arrested when she was about christening the baby, adding that she has frequently been involved in such activity
The police image maker said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded on the matter.
